TRAVEL & STAY
A Few Notes About Visiting Cape Cod
Part of what makes Cape Cod so quaint and unique can also make it difficult to navigate. We’re here to help.
Driving
The Cape is surprisingly large; it is not uncommon to drive 30+ minutes to a restaurant, bar, or beach. However, each part of the Cape has it’s own unique feel; so, while you may put some miles on your rental vehicle, we still recommend exploring the Cape in it’s entirety.
Ubers exist, but they’re not a reliable mode of transportation at all hours/locations. Plan transportation in advance whenever possible.
If driving to the Cape on Friday and/or leaving the Cape on Sunday, the traffic will be brutal. It’s an unavoidable truth. We recommend you travel in the early mornings or later at night.
Consider carpooling, sharing rental vehicles, or investigating the ferry (from Boston) as a means of getting to the Upper Cape (Welfleet, Provincetown, Truro, etc.).
Flying
We're very experienced when it comes to bicoastal flights. Here are some words of wisdom:
Don't underestimate the impact of jet lag. If at all possible, arrive a day or two early.
For our West Coast friends and family, we'd recommend rethinking those early morning return flights. If you have to be at Boston Logan Airport for a 5:50 AM boarding time, you're leaving Cape Cod during twilight hours. It's not fun.
We'd recommend flying into Boston Logan International Airport. When you arrive in Boston, you have a few options:
Take a bus service from BOS to Cape Cod.
Take the ferry from BOS to Provincetown.
Rent a car and drive/Uber from BOS to Cape Cod.
Alternate airports include: Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport and Cape Cod Gateway Airport (only for New York/East Coast locals).
Where to Stay
AirBnb & VRBO
Vacation rentals are extremely popular on Cape Cod; for many guests, we imagine this will be the best option.
If you are in town solely for the purpose of our wedding ceremony, we recommend the below search terms: Eastham, Truro, Orleans, Provincetown.
If you are going to be extending your stay at all or are planning to attend night-before activities, we recommend staying in a more central location. Search terms include: New Seabury, Popponessett, Barnstable, Falmouth, etc.
Vacation rentals go quickly; please, book in advance. If you have any questions about the safety or centrality of an accommodation option, please reach out.
Other Venue Reccomendations
Chequessett Yacht Club provided us with this list of additional accommodations. Please, note that we can not personally vouch for any of these locations and would encourage you to do your due diligence in researching proximity, reviews, etc.
Hotels
The below is just a sampling from across Cape. As is true for any lodging, we recommend ensuring that you map the distance between the hotel you choose and our venue (for both the rehearsal dinner and ceremony, if applicable) before booking.
The closest chain hotel, located approximately 16 minutes from venue. Clicking the link above will direct you to book through our room block!
A newly redone boutique hotel with outdoor spaces, approximately 7 minutes to venue.
An upscale option approximately 48 minutes to venue; centrally located to most of Cape Cod.
The Brass Key Guesthouse (Provincetown)
Trendy, adults-only inn in the heart of Provincetown. Approximately 26 minutes to venue.
